tzhak Perlman offers an incomparably rich and versatile palette for his rendition of the colors and moods in Vivaldi's Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. He conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra from the violin.
Itzhak Perlman's importance as one of the greatest violinists of his time is revealed in an incredibly varied and extensive discography. Not only did he record the great classical and romantic violin concertos, but the legitimate successor to such greats as Jascha Heifetz also devoted himself to film music, klezmer and turned the often ridiculed encore pieces into true masterpieces. One of the commercial perennial favourites among his interpretations is one of the great classical hits from the Baroque era: in 1976, Perlman recorded his version of Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which is one of the most colorful and captivating interpretations. The album is now being released on 180-gram vinyl in a state-of-the-art remastering and is thus being honored as one of the most important recordings of the 20th century.
