Description
After long eight months in the making, the new full-length album by Tomas Dvorak, more known using Floex moniker, and follow-up to "Samorost 2" soundtrack is out now as limited 12"LP on Minority Records. The original idea behind Machinarium Soundtrack came into the life when Amanita Design head honcho Jakub Dvorsky asked Tomas to prepare compositions for his newly prepared and eagerly awaited point-and-click adventure flash game Machinarium in the same manner as he did for "Samorost 2", e.g. ambient and electro-acoustic compositions overlapping into classical music. It's no secrets that Tomas is particularly interested in joining electronic and acoustic instruments together, the only difference in composing for Machinarium was that the tracks were supposed to be longer than in the previous work for "Samorost 2". The composer himself says on the mood of the whole album: "I personally like to make songs that are more melancholic, full of deeper emotions. The music in the last part of the game is probably closest to this mood. It's also more acoustical, including the piano." It is good to point out that the compositions on LP are not entirely the same as in the flash game, they were carefully remixed and mastered for the purposes of the standalone soundtrack which turned out as gorgeous set of compositions which is wonderful beyond compare. The beauty of greatly orchestrated subtle electro-acoustic pieces makes you to sit back and listen in for hours and shifts you into a higher levels of cognition. MACHINARIUM is a point-and-click adventure game by Amanita Design, the makers of "Samorost" and "Samorost 2" flash games con- centrating on art design. In 2009 at IGF Festival in San Francisco, USA Machinarium won the category "Excellence in Visual Art", it has been nominated for Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) Awards and picked up over 22 awards across the world to date.

Good music, like it. thank you.The music adds a deep level of connection to the game environment. I'm not one who typically listens to soundtracks (movies or video games) without first experiencing the source material, so I can't say you'll enjoy this as much if you don't play the game. That being said, this is very well put together and great music to have on in the background. I know a soundtrack is good when it takes me back to the source just by hearing the music...and that's precisely what this did for me.Love the game, love the soundtrack. It's been said that video game soundtracks are good for studying or working because they enhance concentration. This is definitely a good example for that.Actually it's a love/hate thing with the game. Sometimes I'll get stuck for hours if not days.I simply cannot express how much I love this soundtrack. Amanita Design not only creates fun, indie games but the music that comes with is simply superb. Tomas Dvorak has such a unique sound with interesting textures that complements the art and overall style of the game. One of my favorite soundtracks in years. Also sounds way better here than in the game (possibly due to Flash?). Personally I'm especially fond of The Bottom and Mr. Handagote, but the rest is also quite great and atmospheric.Good Soundtrack. Currently using the track "Gameboy Tune" as a phone ringtone!People feel the need to throw the word "game" into their reviews - and that's a shame. Not because the game is bad. Not because the interactive nature of videogames doesn't add a visual element to this soundscape...indeed it does. It's a shame because videogames are still in their infancy, like film in the 1940s. The characterization of this soundtrack as complement to a "game" undermines its transcendence. So let's ditch the "...for a game" caveat: This soundtrack is one of the finest musical scores imagined. "For a game" or otherwise. This could have been the "Eternal Sunshine" soundtrack. This could have helped you through your darkest night. This could help you write your documents. You get the idea. And you'd never even have to play "the game". I didn't.Favorite Cuts: The Bottom, The Castle, Gameboy TuneEnergetic, but non-intrusive instrumental tunes that, at least for me, are perfect to play while I do programming or other creative work.Habe es jetzt zweimal auf MAC durchgespielt und musste mir den Soundtrack auf Vinyl kaufen weil er einfach der brutal geile Chill - Out - Hammer ist.Einfach mal reinhören.
