The Arctic Monkeys are releasing a damn fresh album in early September, perhaps the best of their band history! With guest appearances by Josh Homme (QOTSA), Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello) and Bill Ryder Jones!
AM - the initials of the band stand for much more: For the beginning of a new day, an analog radio frequency and an existential statement (being). The album title "AM" of the fifth Arctic Monkeys album implies exactly that and much more. All this resonates concisely, or as drummer Matt Helder says in a typical blunt manner: "This is the album we always wanted to do."
Recorded in a small studio in East Hollywood, together with long-term collaborator James Ford on the controls, the fifth work of the Arctic Monekys, which they recorded in their adopted home LA, takes up the best elements of the two predecessors and gives them a new, fresh twist
Josh Homme (QOTSA), Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello) and Bill Ryder Jones
have guest appearances on "AM".
Reviews
On their fifth and so far best album, they condense the strengths of their two predecessors into an ingeniously good song cycle (Stereo

"Through their fifth album, Alex Turner & Co. brettern so impetuously and "open-ended", as if it were their debut ..." (Audio,

"It's nice when a band gets better and better." (stereoplay, November 2013)
