As Jonathan Swift so aptly stated, "The incumbent lieth at the mercy of his patron" More than music, Decomposure creates a sonic deconstruction of the art process, addressing the contrast of the often laborious, quiet and painstaking process of art creation to the perceived emotional tone of its end result. The structure of the sound itself studies the relationship of percussion to music and silence. DOOFGOBLIN - Graduating from school he moved to Oakland, California to work with Vaccination Records (home to Idiot Flesh and other art-rockers) and Ralph America (The Residents label of sorts.) Locked in his room at night recording at an obsessive pace, he turned to intense software synthesis programs that began to detract from his usual guitar/vocal/microphone effects methodology. While enjoying the musical community on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) someone heard Gulino’s electronic music and invited him to share it with an online group of like-minded individuals.
